Manchester United face a huge week in their season as they take on Bayern Munich in a must-win Champions League clash on Tuesday night before heading to Anfield to play Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

United are coming off the back of another mixed week, with Erik ten Hag's men recording a 2-1 victory over Chelsea before suffering a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday, in what was the Cherries' first-ever win at the stadium. Ten Hag's side must beat Bayern in their final Champions League group game on Tuesday night and hope Copenhagen and Galatasaray play out a draw in order to progress. Any other scenario will see the Red Devils knocked out, although they may still finish third and drop into the Europa League.

Ahead of tonight's game, we have rounded up the latest United transfer news and rumours, as the January window approaches with reports claiming one big contract decision has been made while up to five players could be sold next month if the right offer comes along.

United 'will not' extend Martial's contract

Anthony Martial looks to be on his way out of Old Trafford in the summer, as United do not plan to activate the one-year option to extend his contract when it runs out at the end of the season. That is according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, as Martial enters the final months of his deal in Manchester.

The Frenchmen penned a new five-year deal in 2019 which is set to run out this summer. The contract does have an option which allows United to extend his stay by a further 12 months, but the club are reportedly not planning to exercise that.

He is set to leave the club as a free agent next summer, unless a 'suitable offer' arrives in January. Martial arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco in 2015, in a deal worth up to £58million, with United paying an initial £36million. He scored a memorable goal in a 3-1 win over Liverpool early in his United career but he was unable to convert that early promise into consistent performances. He has scored 90 goals and provided 55 assists in 317 appearances.

Red Devils 'open' to offers for five players

Martial is one of five players United are open to selling in January, according to the Guardian. Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek are on the list as are Casemiro and Raphaël Varane. Ten Hag does not intend to force any players out and United are said to expecting a quiet month, although financial fair play rules means they do need to offload some players - meaning the club are ready to hear any offers for the five players.

Given reports Martial's contract will be allowed to run out, it is no surprise the club are open to offers next month. Sancho has not played since a public falling out with Ten Hag while Van de Beek is very much on the fringe of the first-team squad. United could raise some big funds if suitable offers come in for Casemiro and Varane, given the experience of the two players.
