The window is a notoriously tricky time to buy and the fact that the ongoing takeover saga hasn't yet been formally completed won't help discussions at Old Trafford.

Man Utd reach decision on Sofyan Amrabat future

United will not move to sign midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on a permanent deal next summer after being underwhelmed by the Moroccan's impact at Old Trafford.

That's according to The Sun with the outlet reporting that Erik ten Hag is 'already planning' for next season without the Fiorentina man, who could be bought for a fee of around £17 million with £4 million of add-ons when his loan expires at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season and played 90 minutes in the side's last three league matches. However, the club appear not to be convinced that Amrabat's playing style is suited for the Premier League and other options, such as homegrown talent Kobbie Mainoo, may be better longer-term options.

Marca reports that a fee of £43 million could land Manchester United the signing of sought-after Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo. The winger has impressed this season thanks to his creative output and attacking impetus.

A £43 million fee may be wishful thinking for Kubo, who has six goals and three assists in the league this season, with Real Madrid set to benefit from a big 50% sell-on clause. A fee closer to a believed release clause of £52 million may be more likely.
