Man Utd star might have not played his final game for the club after all amid Paul Scholes prediction

Manchester United’s hopes of having a successful season remained alive on Thursday night as they came from behind in stunning fashion to beat Lyon and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire scored twice in as many minutes deep into extra time to set up a last four clash with Athletic Club. The Spanish side will have added motivation to reach the final as it will be played at their home stadium.

Paul Scholes predicts Ruben Amorim will put full focus on Europa League
Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, club legend Paul Scholes predicted that Amorim would ‘play the kids’ in the club’s remaining Premier League games as he focuses on Europe. While the Europa League gives the Red Devils a big chance to rescue their season, their top-flight campaign has been hugely disappointing.
United are set for their lowest-ever points finish in a Premier League season while they are also poised for their lowest-ever finish. Realistically, the Red Devils will finish in the bottom half with little left to play for their last six league games. United have had their injury problems and it would make sense for Amorim to avoid risking further selection concerns ahead of their semi-final with Athletic Club.
Up next for the Old Trafford outfit is a home clash with Wolves before they travel to Bournemouth on April 27. Then comes the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on May 1 with the second leg at home on May 8. In between their European fixtures, they have a trip to Brentford on May 4.

Hide AdJonny Evans can still get Man United farewell
It was reported this week that United academy graduate Jonny Evans would be leaving the club at the end of the season once his contract expired. The former Northern Ireland international has not played for the Red Devils since the end of December due to an injury.
United gave an update on the player earlier this week, as they revealed he was back in training after a lengthy lay-off. It was unclear if Evans would play for the Red Devils again. The emergence of Ayden Heaven before the youngster was injured against Leicester City raised doubts if Amorim would call on Evans again before the end of the campaign. However, given the club’s season hinges on the Europa League - Amorim could look to call upon the veteran in some of the remaining Premier League games once he is fit again.
Evans is also more likely to feature again this season following the news earlier this week that Matthijs de Ligt will be out for the season. Given the risk of further injuries, there is a big chance Amorim turns to Evans to help get the club through their final stretch of Premier League matches. Plus, if Scholes’ prediction of Amorim turning to younger players comes true - there will need to be a more experienced player to provide leadership. That is something Evans can offer.
