Manchester United already have a foot in the Carabao Cup final after a convincing win in the first leg of their semi-final with Nottingham Forest.

Erik ten Hag’s men won 3-0 at the City Ground, and that should make for a relatively comfortable second leg at Old Trafford next week. In the meantime, United will be looking to see if they can add any players to their squad ahead of next week’s transfer deadline, even if they are only shopping on the cheap this winter.

And with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Iglesias chatter

United are said to be interested in signing Real Betis forward Borja Iglesias.

According to Estadio Deportivo, United are interested in a deal, and Betis may yet consider a loan deal given their need to offload wages to bring in new players. Iglesias has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this month, but United do need more attacking reinforcements despite the signing of Wout Weghorst.

It will be interesting to see whether anything comes about, especially given the Red Devils are looking to avoid spending big sums this month.

Thuram opportunity

In a summer transfer boost, it seems United may still have the opportunity to land Marcus Thuram.

The France World Cup star is said to be a possible target of the Red Devils ahead of the summer, though Chelsea were being tipped to pull off a deal this month. According to footmercato, the Blues have now decided not to pursue a deal this month, and Thuram has decided he wants to stay with Borussia Monchengladbach until the end of the season.

Thuram will now be available for free at the end of the season, and clubs outside of England are already able to agree a pre-contract agreement.
