Target eyed

United are reportedly keen on landing Schalke and Germany youth midfielder Assan Ouedraogo along with league rivals Chelsea and German giants Bayern Munich. That’s according to a report by TEAMtalk, who claim the Red Devils are among the clubs who are ‘interested’ in landing the youngster ahead of the January transfer window.

Ouedraogo, 17, played for Union Mülheim before linking up with his current club at academy level in 2014. He has since risen up through the ranks and has made five first-team appearances this season for the Bundesliga.2 outfit following their relegation from the top flight last term and he has chipped in with a single goal.

Midfielder was on radar

United reportedly agreed a deal to sign Gabriel Menino from Palmeiras in the last transfer window but weren’t able to get it over the line in the end, according to Premier League Brasil. The highly-rated midfielder, who is 23-years-old, may have been identified by Erik ten Hag over the summer as someone to bolster his ranks in the middle of the park.

Menino moved to Allianz Parque in 2017 from Guarani and has since become one of their most prized assets, playing 181 games. They could face a real battle to keep hold of him in the future with clubs in Europe in the frame to snap him up next.
