Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United could have two players back for Sunday’s Premier League game against West Ham United.

Sofyan Amrabat is set to return to training over the weekend following Morocco's elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations this week. The midfielder hasn’t played for United since the 0-0 draw at Anfield on 17 December due to injury and his international commitments.

Victor Lindelof might also be back to face the Hammers after an injury layoff that has lasted nearly two months. The Sweden captain underwent surgery on a minor groin issue in December but has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks, Ten Hag confirmed.

“Sofyan will return to training on Saturday,” the Dutchman said ahead of the West Ham clash. “Ty [Malacia] and Mason Mount I don’t expect them back, but I think Victor Lindelof is almost back. Yesterday he trained with the team and we have to see how far he is.”

Meanwhile, Ten Hag also revealed that a leg injury ruled Aaron Wan-Bissaka out of Thursday’s Premier League win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the right-back is not expected to be back in time for Sunday’s game.

“He is also on his way back and could be available. I don’t think he will make it for Sunday but I’m not sure at this moment. There is a problem in his leg.”

In a busy injury update Ten Hag was also asked about Lisandro Martinez, who was seen icing his foot after he was replaced in the latter stages at Molineux. The Argentinian underwent surgery twice on a broken metatarsal in 2023, but Ten Hag said the treatment was just preventative.

“It was a precaution,” he explained. “I took him off because actually I had to sub Rasmus Hojlund because he was dead with all his running. Then we needed an extra header.

“But also I think for Licha [Martinez], he was of course a long way out and we brought Harry Maguire on as an extra header and Omari [Forson] for Rasmus."
