Erik ten Hag revealed Victor Lindelof remains an injury doubt ahead of Manchester United's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The defender was replaced at half-time in last week's win over Chelsea and was forced to sit out the loss to Bournemouth as a result. It was hoped the centre-back would be back in time for the must-win game against Bayern, but Ten Hag revealed on Monday that he is not sure if the Swede will be available.

"It's a condensed programme, so we have training," explained the Dutchman. "In this moment, I'm not sure about everyone who's available for tomorrow. Question mark is Victor Lindelof, if he can make it or not. We have to wait and see until tomorrow to know."

If Lindelof is absent, Luke Shaw is likely to continue at the heart of defence, alongside Harry Maguire. Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are other options, with Lisandro Martinez injured.

United are also expected to be without Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount on Tuesday's game, while Tyrell Malacia and Casemiro are long-term absentees. As for Bayern, they announced their travelling squad ahead of the game, which included England captain Harry Kane, but Matthijs De Ligt and Serge Gnabry miss out due to injury.

The German champions have already secured top spot in Group A, regardless of the result on Tuesday, whereas United need to win and for Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw if they are to progress to the knockout stages of the competition.

"I never think of a negative scenario," Ten Hag said in Monday's press conference. "We think positive, we know what to do, we have to win to stay in Europe. "It's about that, we will prepare the team with that feeling, with that belief, we have shown in the last weeks when we are at our best we can do it."
