Manchester United are already getting stuck into their pre-season preparations as the new season draws a little closer. The Red Devils will first stop in Norway to take on Leeds United before moving on to the USA, and Erik ten Hag will want his men in tip-top shape by the time they get to August and the start of the Premier League.

The Dutchman will also want more new signings in ahead of that date, hoping to add to Mason Mount with a goalkeeper and a striker, at the very least. In that vein, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Onana latest

Man Utd are said to be closing in on the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. With David De Gea now officially out the door, United can concentrate on landing a replacement and it’s pretty clear they have decided on Inter stopper Onana.

Reports differ on how far the Red Devils have got with a deal, with some claiming Inter are not willing to lower their £51million asking price. But the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler has tweeted: “Sources close to Andre Onana say a deal to take the Inter Milan goalkeeper to Man Utd is in its final stage.”

Roque going elsewhere

United were said to be interested in Brazilian ‘wonderkid’ Vitor Roque this summer, but it seems they have missed out to Barcelona.

The player’s agent, Andre Cury, told Globo Esporte: “Every negotiation is complicated, especially for a player of this calibre. There were other interested parties. But Vitor always had his head turned to Barcelona.

“He wanted to follow the Brazilians who passed through Barcelona; Rivaldo, Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, who were the best in the world there. And Neymar, who was not the best in the world, but was in the top three and was champion in the Champions League. I had been talking to Deco (Barca’s sporting director) for a year. And we have now implemented (the deal). We chose the best project for Vitor Roque to be among the best in the world.

“I would like to thank Barcelona, the president, Xavi, everyone for their trust. They got it right. They’re going to have a very high-level player for the next few years.”
