Manchester United are edging closer to adding to their squad ahead of the new Women’s Super League (WSL) season with confidence growing they can secure two primary targets.
ManchesterWorld understands the club have been encouraged in their pursuit of Brazilian World Cup star Kerolin with an agreement on a fee moving closer - though they face competition from several top European clubs.

Hide AdAs confirmed by MailOnline, United have long indentified the North Carolina Courage star as a player they would like to add to their ranks and any move for the player would likely break their transfer record.
Hampered by the departure of key players Ona Batlle and Alessia Russo to Barcelona and Arsenal earlier in the summer, a move for the 23-year-old Brazilian would be seen as significant progress as they approach their maiden season in the UEFA Women’s Champion’s League.
While there is still work to be done for a move to be completed, one major sticking point being the fact Sean Nahas’ side are currently mid-season and would prefer the transfer to happen in January - if at all. However, United have been boosted by constructive discussions on a fee for the player who already has eight goals in 13 games in the American top tier.
Elsewhere, the Reds are also hopeful of bringing Portuguese international Tatiana Pinto to the club, with the 29-year-old already confirming her departure from Spanish side Levante this summer.

One player who will definitely not be wearing the United jersey next year however is long serving winger Kirsty Hanson.
Hanson, 25, spent last season on loan to fellow WSL outfit Aston Villa and was nominated for the Barclay’s Women Super League player of the year after an outstanding campaign and the midfielder has now completed a permanent move to the Carla Ward’s side.
“To you Reds... Thank you for the best support over the past 5 years. You have been a big part of my journey. Every time I have represented this club I have given 100%, not only for the staff and players, but for you” wrote Hanson on Twitter.

“I’m now delighted to say I’m officially an Aston Villa player. I’m excited for this next chapter and to be part of this special team. See you soon Villains”
