The Red Devils were in desperate need of a Premier League win after suffering that heavy defeat to Manchester City. This week, the Red Devils face Omonoia in the Europa League, and they then take on Newcastle United in a tricky-looking Premier League clash.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

De Jong opportunity

United could yet get their opportunity to land Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils pursued de Jong all summer, but they ultimately failed to make the deal happen, with the midfielder refusing to leave Barcelona.

Ten Hag is still said to be keen on de Jong, though, and United may well need more midfielders, especially looking ahead to next summer.

According to Sport, they could get their wish, with the outlet claiming Barca are eyeing a free deal for Youri Tielemans. It’s claimed Tielemans would replace de Jong, potentially giving United the opening they need to finally get their man.

Gusto links

United are being linked with a move for Lyon star Malo Gusto.

According to 90min, United are eyeing a move for the 19-year-old defender, who has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

Gusto is already impressing for Lyon, despite his youth, and he is now being eyed by United, Arsenal and Manchester City.

The defender is under contract until 2024, but United are said to be keen ahead of January and next summer. All three clubs are said to have scouted Gusto, while Chelsea and Tottenham are also being linked. Gusto now operates as a right-back having played further up earlier in his career.
