Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has reportedly told the Bundesliga giants he wants to pursue a move to Manchester United.

The 49-times capped France international has spent the last four years at the Allianz Arena after joining Bayern from league rivals Stuttgart in a reported £28million move during the summer of 2019.

During that time, he has gone on to make over 160 appearances for Bayern, becoming a four-time Bundesliga champions, a DFB-Pokal (German Cup) winner and was part of the side that beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Final in August 2020. Pavard has also shown his class on the international stage after helping France win the World Cup in 2018 and reach the final in 2022.

His versatility and experience have reportedly catapulted him to the top of Erik ten Hag’s list of priorities as the Red Devils manager looks to boost his defensive ranks before the end of the summer transfer window.

German outlet Bild have given a major update on the situation as they claimed Pavard had already agreed to make the move to Old Trafford and has informed his current employers of his intentions for the next step in his career..

Chief reporter Tobi Altschaffl tweeted: “Pavard has told the club he is keen to leave. He agrees with ManUnited, but there is still a very big difference in the fee. This is where the Pavard poker comes in.”

That comes just a week after Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed Bayern are expecting United to make a move for the World Cup winner if and when Harry Maguire completes his move to West Ham United.

Speaking last week, he said: “Sources in Germany are expecting Manchester United to make a move for Benjamin Pavard if Harry Maguire leaves United. Bayern Munich have known for a long time that Pavard wants to leave and one source has told us that the player wants to move to United and also negotiations are ongoing at the moment. Now he’s a right-back that also plays as a centre-back. He would cost, we’re being told around €30-35million, so probably around £30 million.”
