Man Utd ‘eye’ raid for rivals’ £20m Premier League star as Cristiano Ronaldo transfer talk shut down

All the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours as Erik ten Hag’s men return to European action.

Manchester United return to action on Thursday night when they take on Sheriff in the Europa League. The Red Devils are still chasing down Real Sociedad in top spot in their group, but they will need to win on Thursday to keep the pressure on going into the final game.

Erik ten Hag’s men come into this one on the back of a dramatic late draw with Chelsea in the Premier League, drawing 1-1 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a stoppage-time leveller.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding United.

Ronaldo ruled out

Napoli will not be signing Cristiano Ronaldo in January despite links with the United forward.

Napoli chief Cristiano Giuntoli told DAZN: “Ronaldo in January? We won’t sign any players in January. We don’t need to change anything in this team. We’re doing great and we’re not planning any signing, as of today.”

Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from United, with his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly looking for a new club for his star client ahead of the January transfer window.

Adams links

United are said to be considering a move for Leeds United star Tyler Adams. Adams was only signed by the Whites in the summer, for around £20million, but he is already impressing in the heart of their midfield, despite Jesse Marsch’s men struggling for form.

According to Football Insider, Adams is on United’s list of targets, but it does seem unlikely Leeds will consider selling any time soon. The Yorkshire club sold Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha over the summer, and while they did spend to improve in the summer, they are not financially in a position where they need to sell.
