Man Utd ‘crazy’ about transfer move and Declan Rice summer update

A look at the latest Manchester United transfer rumours as Ralph Rangnick and his men continue their top four chase.

Manchester United continue to work behind the scenes on potential transfers while also trying to snap up their next manager.

It has been a difficult season for the Reds, with Ralph Rangnick taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a disappointing start.

The interim appointment has been far from perfect, with United still on course to miss out on the top four, despite currently sitting in fourth.

It’s already clear that the next managerial appointment will be a key one, but getting this summer’s signings right will be just as important.

And as the work continues behind the scenes, here are the latest United transfer rumours.

Araujo links

United are being tipped to pull off a move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

Araujo is in contract talks with Barcelona, but he has rejected early advances with the initial offer not enough to make him feel like a key part of the squad.

According to the Express, United are ‘crazy’ about Araujo and see him as a very good option at centre-back.

The issue is that Araujo is still open to penning a new Barcelona deal and talks continue. His current contract is up in 2023.

Rice still on the cards

The Reds are still understood to be keen on a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice ahead of this summer.

Rice has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last couple of years, and according to ESPN, he could be an option this summer.

That is particularly the case if the likes of Paul Pogba leave, freeing up large amounts on the salary bill.

Alternatives to Rice

The same ESPN report is also tipping United to consider an alternative to Rice, should that particular move not happen.

According to the report, RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku is another option, while the Mirror have also linked another Leipzig star in Amadou Haidara recently.

United will need to sign a replacement for Pogba if he leaves, with no new contract agreed just yet.
