Erik ten Hag could be cashing in on a number of first team players in January.

Manchester United will soon be shifting attention to the January transfer window and looking at how they can bolster their squad in order to secure the best possible finish this season.

After recording their worst ever run in the Champions League and falling behind the Premier League top four, there's a lot of heat on Erik ten Hag and his side right now. Their draw against Liverpool at Anfield has alleviated some pressure, but there's still a big hill to climb before the end of the season.

As well as potential new signings coming their way next month, United have opened themselves up to offers for Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho. While the latter's exit is now a priority, the club will reportedly not push to cash in on the other three in January.

However, according to reports this week, United football director John Murtough flew out to Saudi Arabia to pitch sales for the quartet.

Casemiro's contract does not run out until 2026 but it seems as though United are already eyeing up a potential replacement. According to Foot Mercato, the Red Devils are 'very interested' in acquiring Amadou Onana from Everton, and Barcelona are also in the picture.

The Toffees are fighting tooth and nail to survive relegation this season, after being blasted with a ten-point deduction. They are out of the drop zone right now but their poor run of form over the last couple of seasons could see some of their key players leave in the summer.

However, it seems Everton are more than aware of their situation and may be looking to raise some funds, as the report claims they have slapped an asking price of €55 million (£47.5m) on Onana. United 'continue to monitor' the situation of the Belgium international, who has started 12 of the 13 league games he has played in this season.

Ten Hag reportedly 'urged' the United board to sign Onana back in May as he was a fan of the midfielder's physicality. Of course, Onana opted to stay at Everton but that could change after another rocky season.
