Midfielder Ethan Galbraith has emerged on the radar of former United man Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough ahead of the summer, as per the Northern Echo. The youngster, who spent time on loan at Salford City in League Two this term to gain some experience, will be leaving the Red Devils when his contract expires to pursue a new challenge somewhere else.

ManchesterWorld understands the likes of Newcastle United, Derby County, Stoke City and Sunderland have shown interest in landing him recently. However, Boro appear to have joined the chase following their defeat in the play-offs over two legs to Coventry City earlier this month.

Striker options

United are believed to be in the hunt for a new striker ahead of the next campaign. As per the Manchester Evening News, they are ‘considering’ other options such as Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus as alternative to Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.

The Red Devils are keen on luring Kane in from Spurs but it remains to be seen whether he will be allowed to move on, despite his deal expiring in 2024. Ten Hag doesn’t want to put all his eggs in one basket and appears to have other targets on his mind too.
