Manchester United are now just over a week away from their return to competitive action as the World Cup enters the semi-final stage.

The Red Devils have been in Spain recently, taking on Andalucian duo Cadiz and Real Betis as they look to get back towards match fitness following the lengthy break. But Erik ten Hag’s men did not impress in either of those two games, losing both, albeit they are still without some of their international stars.

United are going to need to get sharper from this point, but as they put in the work on the training ground, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Wan-Bissaka update

United may sell right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka this January with Ten Hag not convinced by the defender. According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham United are contenders to make a move for the right-back, though it’s not clear whether they would be able to meet the Red Devils’ demands, potentially opening the door to a loan deal.

That’s something United could be open to in January if there are no permanent offers, with the 20-the time English champions likely to sign a new right-back in the winter window.

Bentancur links

United are reportedly interested in making a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur.

The midfielder has impressed since arriving from Juventus last January, and Fichajes claim United, as well as Liverpool and Real Madrid, could be keen on a move. Though, with a contract in place, it’s claimed Spurs would demand around £50m to sell Bentancur at this point.

The Red Devils could do with more options in the middle of the park, yet this would be a costly transfer, especially for January and with other areas to also improve.
