All the latest news surrounding Manchester United as the summer window swings open.

The summer transfer window has now officially opened, and Manchester United can kick on with their summer plans.

Erik ten Hag’s men enjoyed steady progression in the season just gone, securing a return to the Champions League while also winning the Carabao Cup. United will need to make a number of signings to bridge the gap to those likely to be involved in the title race next season, and it will be interesting to see which deals the club can pull off this summer.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Old Trafford.

Mount latest

United are said to remain interested in Chelsea star Mason Mount this summer.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Blues star, who will have just one year remaining on his contract from this summer. According to The Telegraph, United are ‘confident’ Mount will not sign a new contract this summer, opening the door to a deal.

Chelsea are said to be demanding as much as £70million for Mount, but it’s not likely they will get an offer that big given Mount’s contract situation, but if a new contract is agreed, it will end all hopes of a deal.

Hojlund competition

United could face competition in their reported bid to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

Recent reports suggest Hojlund is a target for the Red Devils as they look to land a striker this summer. According to the Evening Standard, though, Chelsea are also interested in Danish forward, who is still relatively unproven at this stage.

Ten Hag is said to have already spoken with the player ahead of a move, but there could yet be a tussle for his signature, with Chelsea looking to add to their already bloated squad with the signing of a striker, with Romelu Lukaku likely to leave permanently.
