Fabrizio Romano names Man Utd star who is untouchable under Ruben Amorim as club prepare 'crazy salary offer'

Manchester United could supercharge their progress under Ruben Amorim if they can win the Europa League and secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
After a dramatic comeback against Lyon in the quarter-final, the Red Devils made easier work of their semi-final tie as they romped to a 7-1 aggregate win over Spanish side Athletic Club. The La Liga outfit will host the final later this month but will not get the chance to play for a European trophy in their own stadium after the Red Devils won 3-0 and 4-1 in the two legs.

However, the club are determined to keep a hold of their best players - one of who is Bruno Fernandes. The United captain has been the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League and Al-Hilal.
Fabrizio Romano gives latest on Bruno Fernandes’ future at Man United
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said Al-Hilal are prepared to offer Fernandes a ‘crazy salary’ to tempt him to the Saudi Pro League but that he is considered ‘untouchable’ by manager Amorim.
Romano said: “Bruno Fernandes is the top target for Al-Hilal. That's the reality. Al-Hilal made contact with people close to Bruno Fernandes. They tried two years ago, they tried one year ago and then Bruno extended his contract at United. Now Al-Hilal are still there and are prepared to offer crazy money to Bruno Fernandes - a crazy salary to make him a crucial player for their project at the club.

“But Man United know that for the coach, Ruben Amorim, Bruno Fernandes is absolutely untouchable and a crucial player. Amorim consider Fernandes crucial as a player, as a leader, on every single point of view and wants Bruno to continue in Manchester United.
“So what's the point, when Man United position is very clear? Al-Hilal want to try and want to make contact again with people close to Bruno. Al-Hilal want to offer really important money. And then see what happens when they will make an approach also with Manchester United.”
Man United unlikely to sanction Bruno Fernandes exit
Outside of the Europa League, United have endured a difficult season but Fernandes has constantly stood out as somebody to perform while those around him have struggled. He signed a new deal last summer and Amorim publicly stated in midweek that he wanted Fernandes to remain at Old Trafford.

Hide AdUnited have a number of positions that they need to address this summer and losing Fernandes would leave them with a huge void to fill, and it is unlikely to be cheap fix. He is the club’s top scorer this season with 19 goals while he also has 19 assists. Only three other players have managed to get to double figures for goals but the second top-scorer - Alejandro Garnacho - is eight goals behind on 11.
Garnacho also has the second most assists this season with 10, while Amad Diallo has nine with no other player getting anywhere near Fernandes’ figures. His goal involvements and influence as captain make him an important player to keep. The only way United could be tempted would be by a mega-money offer, likely to be over £100m.
