Man Utd have transfer bid ‘rejected’ for £31m French ace whilst club are ‘confident’ of keeping target

Manchester United have had a bid rejected for a Bayern Munich player and Ajax are confident of keeping hold of attacker Antony.

Manchester United are back in action this weekend away at Southampton.

The Red Devils picked up their first win of the season last time out at home to rivals Liverpool.

That result was a huge relief for new boss Erik ten Hag and he will hope his team can build on that now.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club today (Friday)...

Ajax boss speaks out

Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has spoken out about rumours linking Antony with a switch to United.

The 22-year-old attacker scored 12 goals in all competitions in the last campaign under Ten Hag.

However, his new manager is ‘confident’ of keeping him and has said, as per Voetbal International:

“He has a contract with Ajax. We already sold many players, our players have ambition. I am confident that he will be playing for Ajax in one week from now.”

Linked player going nowhere

Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford this summer.

The former PSG man has been facing an uncertain future in the Bundesliga.

In this latest development though, he may be staying put between now and the end of the month with reporter Fabrizio Romano revealing on Twitter that Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl wants to keep him (see tweet below):

Bid rejected

United have reportedly had a bid rejected by Bayern Munich for their £31m right-back Benjamin Pavard.

The France international has played four times for Julian Nagelsmann’s side so far this season.

They have apparently turned down an offer from the Red Devils for his services, as per L’Equipe.
