Speculation over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future continues to mount, following reports at the weekend that he would like to leave the club.

ManchesterWorld understands the 37-year-old is absent from training on Monday due to family reasons.

The club have accepted his explanation and their stance on Ronaldo remains the same: he is not for sale and has a year left on his contract.

First signing close

United are closing in on their first signing of the Ten Hag era with Tyrell Malacia set to join from Feyernood.

The defender, who is a Netherlands international, has caught the eye in the Eredivisie over the past six seasons and is now poised to move on for a new chapter in his career.

He arrived at Carrington on Monday morning for the second part of his medical and is expected to complete his signing after that.

United’s international players have returned to pre-season training, a week later than the rest of the squad.
