A La Liga side are eager to sign this Manchester United ace this summer.

Manchester United are due to oversee a significant period of change this summer as multiple deals are expected to be made, both incoming and outgoing. While the likes of Jadon Sancho are taking the headlines, there are other deals potentially being negotiated as well.

Facundo Pellistri has returned to Old Trafford following his short loan spell with Granada and now his next move is being discussed. United could sign off on a ‘permanent exit’ this summer as ‘everything indicates’ the 22-year-old ‘will not play’ for the Reds moving forwards, according to Estadio Deportivo.

Real Valladolid are firmly in the picture for Pellistri’s signature and have gone as far as publicly declaring their interest in bringing him to La Liga permanently. Valladolid manager Paulo Pezzonalo revealed that the board believe United’s winger would be ‘a very important player’ in their ranks, during an interview with local radio station Carve Deportiva.

“We talked about many names [with the sporting management] and one of them, without a doubt, is him. I think it would be very beneficial for him to be with us, although there are financial details that may or may not happen.

“We know it's not easy for us. I love him, but I haven't dared to call him because I want him to give his best for the national team, although I suppose his agent will have let him know. Coming to a team like ours in pre-season, adapting well to the group, knowing that he's coming to an intense, dynamic, vertical team when he's on the outside. He can really shine when he steps into the area. It could be good for him.”

Pellistri has been in action with Uruguay in the Copa América in recent weeks. He last featured in his side’s penalty shootout win over Brazil to reach the semi-finals, where they will take on Colombia.

Pellistri signed for United in 2020 in a £9 million deal but he has made just 24 senior appearances in red across all competitions. The winger has been sent out on loan three times since his arrival at Old Trafford and his current contract is due to expire in less than 12 months, so United may be open to selling Pellistri for a relatively small fee, to at least earn back what they paid for him.

The Red Devils are looking to shift some fringe players this window, as well as some more regular personnel like Casemiro. After recording their worst ever Premier League finish by coming eighth last season, Jim Ratcliffe and co are looking to make significant changes to the squad to ensure there is no repeat of their disappointing season. They have been linked with some exciting players and beating rivals Manchester City to lift the FA Cup will also bode well for them when exploring their options for new players.
