It is set to be a busy first summer at Manchester United for the Ineos group as they look to overhaul the playing squad and forge a strong reputation in the transfer window.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe previously described the club as being the 'dumb money' in the transfer market and he will be eager to ensure they become well known for smart additions instead. Just this week, he reiterated a desire to uncover the next generation of superstars, with a focus on developing elite young talent rather than spending big on high-profile players.
A key part of this transfer strategy will be to target individuals who already have Premier League experience, in hope of ensuring they hit the ground running at Old Trafford and do not take a long time to adjust to their new environment.
United have already been linked with a host of Premier League players at this early stage of the year and there a number of compelling options available to them should they decide to go down that route.
We've taken a look at eight players United could poach from their domestic rivals this summer...
1. Tosin Adarabioyo
United are looking to sign at least one centre-back this summer and the Fulham defender could be the ideal addition to their squad. The 26-year-old is vastly experienced for his age and could be available on a free transfer at the end of the campaign. Photo: Getty Images
2. Jarrad Branthwaite
Ten Hag would love to sign a more suitable replacement for Lisandro Martinez and there are not many better than Everton ace Branthwaite. He would tick a lot of boxes but would likely command a huge transfer fee that would use up a lot of the budget. Photo: Getty Images
3. João Gomes
Another priority for United this summer is to sign a long-term replacement for Casemiro. Despite their inconsistency this season, Wolves have a very talented squad with Gomes one of their brightest players. They are likely to sell at least one star player this summer and it could be good news for United. Photo: Wolves via Getty Images
4. Amadou Onana
Another option available to United would be Onana. He is a vital part of the Everton side and could look to move this summer as he looks to take his career to the next level.
