Man United veteran with 385 Premier League appearances linked with stunning Wrexham transfer

Man United are due to see several players leave in the summer transfer window, whether that be due to selling or expiring contracts. Either way, Ruben Amorim is set to oversee a squad overhaul.
As things stand, there are four United players whose contracts are expiring and will run out in June. Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton. No reports have suggested yet that any of them will sign an extension.

Jonny Evans linked to Wrexham
Centre-back Jonny Evans is unlikely to sign a new contract at Old Trafford as he is now 37 years-old. He has spent two years at United in his second spell with the club, taking his overall time at United to 11 years. The defender has made just six Premier League appearances this season for Man United, and has been more of a dressing room player. Many assumed that Evans would retire after this season, but he has now been linked to Wrexham.
According to a report by the Sun, Evans is amongst a group of older Premier League players that Wrexham wants to sign in the summer, to give them a much-needed boost of experience and quality as they head into the Championship. The club, which is owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, hopes to make it a fourth successive promotion as they aim to take Wrexham to the Premier League for the first time in their history.
The report says that the Welsh side are also looking to sign Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, Everton’s Michael Keane and Newcastle’s Callum Wilson - all players who fit the mould of being older and more experienced in the Premier League, much like Evans.

Christian Eriksen is arguably the most valuable out of the four United players whose contracts are expiring. The Danish international has been linked with a move to Ajax, where he spent the early stages of his career before moving to Tottenham in 2013.
Victor Lindelof is also at a level where he could still play in the Premier League, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if a lower-level PL team go in for him, including the likes of Leeds United and Burnley, who will be promoted from the Championship.
Tom Heaton at the age of 39 is the most likely to retire, with suggestions that he could go into coaching due to his current ‘mentor’ role in Man United’s dressing room.
