Man United flop 'wants a resolution' as PL clubs queue up to sign £37m man in January
The Man United star is yet to start a Premier League game this season.
Man United are on a high at the moment; they have won three games in a row, and Ruben Amorim seems to be finding his best XI finally. They won 4-2 in their last game against Brighton.

Benjamin Sesko started up front for the Red Devils. Although he failed to score over the weekend, he does already have two Premier League goals since joining from RB Leipzig in the summer. Sesko replaced Rasmus Hojlund, who left to join Napoli after a season where he scored just four Premier League goals.
Sesko, alongside Matheus Cunha, seem to be the new first-choice striker option for Amorim, meaning that Joshua Zirkzee’s minutes have dramatically decreased; He is yet to start a game in the Premier League this season.
Premier League clubs queue up to sign Joshua Zirkzee
Amid Zirkzee’s lack of regular minutes this season, the Dutch striker looks to be on his way out in January. Man United paid £36.5m for him in the 2024 summer transfer window, and he hasn’t been able to stamp his mark at Old Trafford since.
Reports have been saying for some time that the Dutchman wants to leave in January to get more minutes, especially considering the World Cup is coming up in the summer. He could leave on loan, but it is looking more likely that Man United will sell the 24-year-old and simply cash in.
According to Caught Offside, West Ham, Brighton, and Aston Villa are all in view for Zirkzee, with West Ham reportedly making initial contact with the Man United striker, as they look for reinforcements to help fight against relegation. It is understood that a January move for Zirkzee is ‘highly likely’.
The report also says that Roma would like to sign Zirkzee on loan, and will be prepared to offer a transfer fee during the next summer transfer window, due to financial fair play rules in the Serie A.
Will Man United replace Joshua Zirkzee?
If the Red Devils were to sell Zirkzee, they would have just Sesko and Cunha, who can play as a number nine. However, Cunha’s best role is in one of Amorim’s attacking midfield roles, which limits the amount of time he can play as a striker. You would think that United would sign a striker to replace Zirkzee if they were to sell him, and it would make sense to add a more experienced striker who can ease some pressure on Sesko, and almost play as a mentor for the 22-year-old.
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been mentioned as a potential target United could sign on the cheap, as the Italian club are keen to sell him due to his high wage bill, and his contract, which expires in the summer, making him a free agent. Furthermore, Robert Lewandowski has been reported as a striker that Man United could sign, as a free agent, with his current contract due to expire in the summer too. The 37-year-old would likely sign on a short-term deal due to his age.
