'Back in the picture' - Man United tipped to reignite interest in bargain signing who could turbocharge attack
Man United have struggled under Ruben Amorim this season, particularly in attack.
Ruben Amorim’s biggest weakness that needed addressing from last year was in attack. Man United were the fifth-lowest-scoring team in the Premier League, and so Amorim made some significant summer signings to help boost the front line.

United added Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, and striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The latter was a man in demand, and he opted to come to United due to the draw of the club. However, it hasn’t exactly been an electric start for Sesko.
The Slovenian striker scored his first goal for United during their 3-1 defeat to Brentford, but hasn’t been able to find any consistent scoring form yet. With that in mind, Amorim could opt to add more attacking talent in the January transfer window.
Man United ‘back in the picture’ for Vlahovic alongside Bayern Munich
One name that was linked to Man United was Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, and in recent weeks, the Red Devils have reportedly re-ignited their interest in the Serbian striker for a potential bargain January transfer to help boost their attack.
Juventus want to sell the 25-year-old in January as his contract is due to expire in June, meaning they risk losing him on a free transfer. That means that the Italian club could accept a cut-price offer for Vlahovic, potentially handing United a quality striker on the cheap.
According to German outlet Bild, Man United’s interest is real, and alongside Bayern Munich, they are eyeing up a move for the striker in the January transfer window. Chelsea were also mentioned as a potential suitor for Vlahovic.
The striker has scored four goals in six games for Juventus so far this season. He is a proven goal scorer and could come in at United to help ease some of the pressure on Sesko and help United to simply score more goals under Amorim.
Bayern’s interest raises Harry Kane question
Seeing as the German report also included that Bayern Munich are interested in Vlahovic, is raises the question around Harry Kane’s future, amid recent reports suggesting he could leave for around £57m in the summer window if his release clause is activated.
Bayern already have Kane and former Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, so if they were to sign Vlahovic as well, it could potentially indicate that Kane could be on his way out, and open to a move back to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
Man United have been linked to Kane, although a move back to Tottenham seems more likely for the England international.
But if United miss out on Vlahovic to Bayern in January, they could get a shot to sign Kane in the summer instead, which would be a huge boost to their attacking unit. Kane has so far scored 16 goals in eight games in all competitions so far this season, and he’s in unbelievable scoring form.
