Manchester United aren’t in action this weekend, but there is still plenty of media attention on Old Trafford.

With the season approaching its final stretch, and with the battle for the top four heating up, it remains to be seen whether or not United will be competing at Europe’s top competition next term - but either way, it promises to be a busy summer transfer window.

It’s understood that the Catalan giants are long-term admirers of the French midfielder, but had been forced to shelve their pursuit of the United star after enduring a precarious financial period.

In recent days, however, Barca have penned a huge sponsorship deal with music-streaming platform Spotify, believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £235 million over the course of four years.

That agreement looks to have vastly reduced the club’s monetary woes, and with newly replenished coffers to draw upon, it is claimed that they have once again focused their attentions on Pogba.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, and is said to be ‘interested’ in the prospect of moving to Spain.

United keen on Siegrist

United could be facing a battle with Scottish champions Rangers to secure a deal for Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.

As far back as January, the Daily Mail reported that the Gers were planning a pre-contract deal for the Swiss stopper, who is out of contract at Tannadice this summer.

In recent days, however, United have also emerged as potential suitors, with The Sun suggesting that the Red Devils sent goalkeeper scout Tony Coton to watch the 30-year-old against Celtic last week.

It is understood that United are in the market for cover for David De Gea as it becomes increasingly likely that Dean Henderson will leave the club at the end of the season.

Reds eye Bounou

Siegrist isn’t the only goalkeeper on United’s radar, however.

The Sunday Mirror report that the Red Devils are keen to beat an oncoming rush to sign Sevilla stopper Yassine Bounou as part of ‘wholesale changes’ to their squad this summer.

The 30-year-old has established himself as Morocco’s No.1 in recent times, has garnered a reputation as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in La Liga this term.

As a result, it is understood that Sevilla are eager to tie him down to a new deal with a £63-million release clause written into it. At the time of writing, Bounou’s contract in Spain is said to include a release clause of around £25 million.

As such, the Mirror claim that United could look to act swiftly in their efforts to lure him to England.
