Man United and Chelsea 'considering' move to sign £31m Serie A ace who could be available at a cut-price

Man United are still looking at add more quality in attack after signing Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

Ruben Amorim is under considerable pressure at Manchester United after his side lost 3-1 to Brentford over the weekend, leaving them 14th in the Premier League table, and desperate to get back to winning ways.

One positive that came out of the Brentford result is that striker Benjamin Sesko scored his first goal since joining United. The Red Devils paid £74m to sign the Slovenian international. He has had a slow start to life at United, leading many to believe that United could do with adding another striker in January.

A player with more experience would be a good idea, considering that Sesko is still very young and unproven in the Premier League. There is a chance that the Red Devils could target a Serie A star, who could be available on the cheap in the January transfer window.

Man United and Chelsea ‘considering’ a move for Vlahovic

If United do want to add a new striker in the January window, the Red Devils could re-ignite their interest in Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, who has previously been linked to several Premier League teams, including Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea.

Vlahovic has been in good form for Juventus this season, scoring four goals in six games and being a very reliable goal-scorer. However, the Serie A club have been keen to sell him as his wages are high; they are becoming even more desperate too, as his contract is due to expire in June, meaning he could leave for free.

According to Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport, Man United and Chelsea are considering a move for Vlahovic in the January transfer window, and Juventus are very keen to sell the striker, meaning they could accept a cut-price deal for the Serbia international.

His current market value is around £31 million, but seeing as Vlahovic looks set to leave for free in June, Juventus could accept a low offer from United, which could provide a great chance for them to secure a reliable target man to take some pressure off Sesko.

Have United been linked with any other strikers?

In recent weeks, there have been some very interesting transfer stories about former Spurs star Harry Kane, as it was reported that he could have a £55m release clause in the summer transfer window, if he decides he wants to leave Bayern Munich and return to the Premier League.

Man United have been linked to signing Kane in the past, when it seemed he was going to leave Tottenham, however, the England record goalscorer decided to leave for the Bundesliga instead. Recent reports have included Man United as an interested party if Kane does return to the Premier League.

In terms of an experienced striker to ease some pressure on Sesko, it couldn’t get much better than Kane, who has managed to score 100 goals in 104 games for Vincent Kompany’s side.
