Erik ten Hag made six changes to his Manchester United team for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield, with the Red Devils selecting the same side that started at Wembley in last weekend’s Carabao Cup final.

Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Fred and Marcus Rashford all return to the side from the starting XI which began the midweek FA Cup win over West Ham United, with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Scott McTominay, Marcel Sabitzer and Alejandro Garnacho dropping out. David de Gea, Diogo Dalot, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst retain their places.

Shaw had been a doubt for the game, but has been passed fit to start, while Sancho has returned to the bench after missing out on Wednesday due to illness.

Lindelof has not been included in the matchday squad at Anfield, although that may be due to Ten Hag opting to select just one centre-back on the bench, rather than an injury for Lindelof.

As for Liverpool, they have made three changes for the game, with Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson and Cody Gakpo all coming into the team. Kostas Tsimikas, Stefan Bajcetic and Cody Gakpo have been relegated to the bench.
