Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

The 24-year-old’s future has been the subject of much speculation this window, with the Frenchman opting not to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes earlier this summer, meaning he has just a year remaining on his current deal.

That has alerted the world’s top clubs, with no shortage of interest in Mbappe. Sky Sports claim that Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have submitted an official offer of €300m (£259m) to sign the ex-Monaco man over the weekend. However, the same outlet are unsure whether Mbappe would be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, and a transfer in Europe remains the most likely outcome.

Sky add that PSG will listen to ‘any offer’ for the player and could even consider a loan deal, with United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and Barcelona all among the interested parties.

Journalist Duncan Castles of the Times also claims United have made an enquiry for Mbappe, while CBS reporter Ben Jacobs tweeted to say the Red Devils are among a number of clubs who have ‘been in touch’ with PSG about the transfer.

The Telegraph report that while Al Hilal are the only side to have submitted a bid at this stage, others will follow suit soon, although PSG believe Mbappe has already agreed to sign for Real Madrid next year once his current deal in Paris expires.

The French international joined PSG in 2018 and has scored 212 goals in 260 matches for the club. In that time he’s won five Ligue 1 titles and has been top league scorer in all of the last six seasons.

Adding a striker has been among United's transfer priorities all summer, with a bid for Rasmus Hojlund expected soon, while Erik ten Hag is believed to be a huge admirer of Harry Kane. However, the availability of Mbappe could change United's approach in the coming weeks.
