The hosts led 4-0 at half-time and although United managed to score three in the second-half, the match was already over and many of their supporters had left the ground.
‘Hugely embarrassing’...
Pundit Keane has delivered his verdict on the game on Sky Sports:
“Every time Man City went forward they looked like they were going to score. City were magnificent. Watching them live, they are one of the best teams I’ve ever seen.
“A huge setback for Man United. We’ve been giving them a little bit of praise over the last few weeks. 4-0 down at half-time, they were 4-0 down at Brentford and the performance in the second-half...it’s no good.
“Even if it is a consolation to score a few goals, the game is over. Man City switched off, they made those substitutions.”

He added:
“Nothing for Man United to take out of this game. I think from the players point of view, they should be embarrassed. You can’t go in at half-time 4-0 in a derby game.
“It is hugely embarrassing, as brilliant as Man City were, United were desperate, particularly in midfield.”
United are 6th in the Premier League table after their loss against City and are two points off the top four.
They are back in action in the Europa League on Thursday away at Omonia as they look to bounce back.
