Thomas Tuchel is the new frontrunner to take over at Manchester United should they decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag at the end of the season.
Ten Hag is under increasing pressure at Old Trafford, with United eighth in the Premier League and unlikely to qualify for Europe unless they improbably defeat Man City in the FA Cup final.
United sources insist the Ineos Group are yet to make a decision on the managerial situation, but the feeling is that Ten Hag is now increasingly likely to lose his job based on the manner of the club's recent performances.
Tuchel will be out of a job himself at the end of the campaign, with Bayern Munich deciding to part ways with the German manager after their own trophyless season, and he is the most compelling candidate to takeover at Old Trafford if the managerial vacancy appears.
It has led to a lot of speculation about how the United side could look next season and if Tuchel were to take charge, then we could expect to see his influence on the squad straight away.
While this line up is all hypothetical and would rely on selling a lot of players too, it is certainly one that would have a lot of supporters on side...

6. CDM - Joshua Kimmich
Kimmich is another player linked with a move away from Bayern this summer as he nears the end of his contract. He probably doesn't fit the profile of player Ineos would target, but if he's up for sale than it might be too hard to resist. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

7. CM - Kobbie Mainoo

8. CM - Bruno Fernandes
United have no plans to sell Fernandes and he will most likely remain the club captain next season. He deserves to be part of a team that matches his own level of ability. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
