Ruben Amorim recorded his first win as Man Utd head coach when they defeated Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Ruben Amorim believes Mason Mount can play a huge part in any future success at Manchester United.

The 25-year-old endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford after he was signed from Chelsea a year ago, making just 20 appearances during his injury-ridden debut campaign. Mount was looking to make up for lost time in his second season at the club, but suffered a hamstring injury back in August that also led him to miss three matches.

It has been a hugely frustrating time for Mount since his high-profile £55 million move, though the arrival of Amorim could spark fresh life into his career, with the midfielder an ideal fit in their new tactical set-up.

Mount impressed as one of the two attacking midfielders as United defeated Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night, and Amorim is predicting big things for him, as long as he manages to overcome his injury issues.

"First thing is he is working really hard," the United head coach said ahead of the weekend clash with Everton. "And then you have to understand the human also. He wants this really badly. That is the most important thing. He has proven to all of you that he is a talented player. He was European champion.

"So we believe a lot in him. He has to stay fit. And like all the guys in the team, they are quality players, they have to improve and believe in themselves. Today, he did a great job, and you see in some moments and details that Mason Mount is a proper footballer. So we believe a lot in him, especially believe a lot in Mason Mount."
