Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer. The Red Devils will be looking to bolster their attacking options in the next transfer window as they prepare for Erik ten Hag’s second season at the helm.

They have managed to return to the Champions League ahead of the next campaign which they will hope can boost their chances of attracting big names to come to Old Trafford. There is expected to be both comings and goings at the end of this term.

United are the only ‘viable’ option for Kane, according to a report by The Sun, as he is ‘not willing’ to leave Spurs for fellow London clubs Chelsea or Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool don’t need a new forward and the player doesn’t want to go abroad which rules out Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. In addition, Newcastle United are not believed to be capable of luring him away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kane, who is 29-years-old, has been the main man for his current club since breaking into their first-team back in 2014 and the Evening Standard claim they are ‘adamant’ he won’t be sold. He has also had loan spells away at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City to gain experience in the past.

He has made 435 appearances for Spurs in all competitions to date and has chipped in with 280 goals, 32 of which came in this past campaign. The Londoner has also fired in a whopping 55 goals in 82 outings for England.

United need to bring in some reinforcements to ensure they can compete with City at the top end of the table and give themselves the best chance of securing titles once again. Kane would be ideal and has shown year after year that he knows where the back of the net is.
