Harry Kane tipped for sensational Man Utd move as Kobbie Mainoo contract stance detailed

Your round-up of the latest Manchester United stories ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash against Everton.

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they host Everton at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag's side have lost consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since September against Fulham and Manchester City, with hope of a top-four spot shrinking by the week.

The visit of back-to-back relegation candidates in Everton and then Sheffield United should provide a chance to rediscover form before the March international break. In the meantime, ManchesterWorld has rounded up some of the latest headlines to come out of Old Trafford.

Kane move tipped

West Ham coach Kevin Nolan believes Harry Kane is destined for a Premier League return and has suggested United 'will be his destination'. Kane was Ten Hag's prime target last summer but a move for the striker never progressed amid concerns that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would not do business with a top-four rival.

Kane eventually joined Bayern Munich but despite an excellent individual campaign - he has 33 goals in as many appearances - his side are 10 points off Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and out of the German cup. Nolan expects to see the 30-year-old back in England and wearing the red of United in the future.

“I can certainly see him back in the Premier League," Nolan told talkSPORT. "I don’t think Tottenham would have ever have sold him to Manchester United, but for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it’s easier for him to come back from Germany and I think Man United will be his destination. I think they (Bayern) would want their money back."

Mainoo contract latest

United are thought to be progressing well with talks over a new contract for midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. HITC reports that the 18-year-old is set to be rewarded for an outstanding breakthrough campaign with a new deal and improved terms.

Mainoo only made his Premier League debut against Everton in November but has since become a crucial cog in Ten Hag’s side, often starting ahead of Casemiro or on-loan Sofyan Amrabat. The teenager has earned huge praise from the likes of Gary Neville and Roy Keane over the last few months.

The report states that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already given the green light for United to agree new terms with Mainoo, who only signed his most recent deal last year. The Reds academy graduate is expected to get a pay-rise that more accurately reflects his role in the squad.
