Full Man Utd injury list: Latest news on 8 recent absentees ahead of the international break & Man City clash

We have the latest on Manchester United’s injured players as the club prepares for players to represent their countries on the international stage.

Manchester United are without a Premier League game until 2 October when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City, due to the international break.

The Red Devils haven’t played a league game since beating Arsenal 3-1 at Old Trafford on 4 September, ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s death four days later.

Her passing resulted in United’s next two league fixtures being postponed. As a result, the club have only played two Europa League group stage fixtures since the win over the Gunners.

Erik Ten Hag’s side lost their opening group stage match against Real Sociedad 1-0 at Old Trafford, but were victorious when travelling to Moldova to face Sheriff Tiraspol last week, beating them 2-0.

The international break gives the Red Devils adamant time to assess players who have been absent since the beginning of the campaign or those who have picked up injuries during it.

With that being said, we’ve rounded up the latest on all eight recent absentees from the United squad…

Phil Jones

The centre-back hasn’t featured for the Red Devils this season and has been placed on a tailored fitness regime away from the rest of the group. His unavailability has resulted in him being left out of United’s Premier League and Europa League squads.

Axel Tuanzebe

Isn’t expected to feature for United for the next couple of months, but has been named in both United’s Europa League and Premier League squads.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wasn’t involved in United’s travelling squad to face Sheriff, but was named on the bench against Sociedad the previous week. Expect him to be an option for the derby.

Brandon Williams

The full-back has been named in the club’s Premier League squad, but hasn’t featured for United under Ten Hag and is currently working on his match fitness.

Donny van de Beek

Was absent from United’s last two games due to a knock. It’s likely he’ll be available for selection for the derby.

Facundo Pellistri

Suffered an injury during United’s pre-season game against Atletico Madrid, but looks set to be available for the derby after being called-up by Uruguay for their games on September 23 and 27.

Anthony Martial

Has been struggling with an Achilles problem since United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on 22 August. Ten Hag confirmed the Frenchman is working away from the team while unavailable.

Marcus Rashford

The Englishman suffered a muscle injury following the win over Arsenal and hasn’t featured for United since. It’s likely he’ll be available for the derby after missing the last two games.
