Frenkie de Jong’s incredible career XI if he completes Man Utd transfer - Ronaldo, Messi & more

We’ve put together a ridiculously talented team from De Jong’s time with Ajax, Barcelona, the Netherlands and, potentially, Manchester United.

At just 25 years old, Frenkie de Jong has already played with some of the world’s greatest players.

That’s no surprise given he’s represented an Ajax team that made it to the Champions League final, played for the talent-churning machine that is the Netherlands national side, and rubbed shoulders with World Cup winners at Barcelona.

But he could add a few more stellar names to that list of team-mates if were to join Manchester United. Despite the disappointing 2021/22 campaign, there’s no denying the talent in the Old Trafford dressing room, and completing a move to the Red Devils would see De Jong join the exclusive list of players who have lined up alongside both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Dutchman is reportedly edging closer to a transfer, with United and Barcelona said to have ‘agreed a deal in principle’.

That’s despite his former manager Ronald Koeman claiming this week that De Jong doesn’t want to leave the Nou Camp.

Koeman took charge of him at club and international level, and ahead of a potential move to the Premier League we’ve put together his all-time greatest XI, and included two stars from United who could claim a place in the fictional side.

So impressive is De Jong’s list of team-mates (including ones he could add at United), the following haven’t made the cut in his combined XI: David De Gea, Matthijs de Ligt, Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic, Bruno Fernandes, Ousmane Dembele, Hakim Ziyech, Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero.

Below is De Jong’s incredible team…
