Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has reportedly been offered a chance to resurrect his career in Asia.

The 32-times capped England international has been without a club since he left Nottingham Forest at the end of last season and there were reports earlier this month suggesting Lingard had parted company with his agents after becoming frustrated with being unable to get back into the game. Speaking to Sky Sports last summer, Lingard - who made over 230 appearances during an eight-year stay in United's first-team - gave an insight into how he viewed the next step in his career after a one-year spell with Forest failed to meet expectations.

He said: “I'm considering all options. I've never ruled out any team or club out, so for me it's just picking the right team and it's got to be right for me. I just want to play football at the end of the day and that's all I want to do. Obviously the project has got to be well suited for me, the team's got to be moving in the right direction but just regular game-time – I'm still hungry.”

There have been suggestions the likes of Everton and West Ham United - where Lingard spent a successful loan spell during the second half of the 2021/22 season - were willing to hand the 31-year-old another chance to impress in the Premier League.

Interest from abroad has come from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq and clubs in Turkey and the United States are also believed to have signalled their desire to talk to the former Red Devils star. However, journalist Pete O'Rourke has now reported South Korean club FC Seoul have handed Lingard a lifeline by offering the attacking midfielder a two-year contract.
