Manchester United are on course to announce Amad Diallo’s new contract with the club in the coming days.
United initially identified a new deal for Amad as a priority last summer and have been working on fresh terms with the 22-year-old over the last few months. Last week, head coach Ruben Amorim said a deal was 'close' and if everything goes to plan, his new contract could even be announced by the end of the week.

Hide AdAmad is technically out of contract at the end of the season, though the club have the option to trigger an additional year in his deal. They exercised their option to keep defender Harry Maguire for another year, but are eager to tie the Ivorian forward down to a new and improved long-term deal.
United spent an initial £19 million to sign Amad from Atalanta on transfer deadline day in October 2020, a fee that could rise to £37 million. He has started in 11 of the 16 matches since former manager Erik ten Hag was sacked, having started just one of the Dutchman's final six games in charge of the club.
Taking to social media on Thursday morning, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote: "Amad Diallo new deal day at Manchester United! His agents will be with Amad to sign today — new contract valid until June 2030 with no option, as revealed yesterday."
In reference to his earlier post, Romano had taken to social media on Wednesday to say: "Amad Diallo’s new deal at Manchester United will be valid until June 2030, understand NO extra year option included. It will be signed by Amad on Thursday. Despite calls from two top clubs even this month, Amad only wanted to stay and renew at Man United."
