Manchester United have reportedly seen a bid rejected and have rejected another one themselves as their January transfer plans begin to gather momentum.
It has been a relatively slow start to the window for United but Ruben Amorim has made it a priority to add a left wing-back and a forward to his side this month and he is well aware some players will need to be sold to fund any permanent arrivals.

Hide AdUnited are in talks to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu and it is understood they have already seen a bid turned down for the 20-year-old. Taking to social media on Wednesday morning, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote: "Manchester United formal bid for Patrick Dorgu was worth €27m plus add-ons, not enough to convince Lecce. Price tag around €40m package as Lecce are also aware of Napoli’s interest for the summer. Dorgu, keen on the move as more contacts are expected between clubs."
There is still hope an agreement can be reached to sign the Danish defender but in order to finance the move United will have to sell a senior star. Antony and Tyrell Malacia will both be allowed to leave the club on loan this month, though those exits won't raise enough money to fund their transfer plans alone.
United had hoped to sell Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, but with few teams able to afford their massive wage demands as well as pay a transfer fee this window, they have to consider selling more attainable talent instead. That has led United to consider bids for young forward Alejandro Garnacho, who would count as pure profit from a financial perspective due to the fact he came from the club's academy.
In another update on social media, Romano added: "Napoli’s opening bid for Alejandro Garnacho worth €50m package add-ons included; Man United want more. Antonio Conte keeps pushing after the call with Garnacho on Friday. Chelsea made contact with United and player side, now deciding internally whether to bid or not."
