Two of the four FA Cup quarter-finals will be played in Manchester.

The FA have confirmed the dates and times for this year’s FA Cup quarter-finals.

The draw, which was made on Wednesday night, pitted holders Manchester City against Newcastle, the side who eliminated the European champions from the EFL Cup in September. That makes the Magpies the only team to eliminate City from a cup competition in over a year.

As for Manchester United, who beat Nottingham Forest in the fifth round, it’s a mouth-watering tie against Liverpool. The clash will see Jurgen Klopp travel to Old Trafford as Liverpool manager for the penultimate time, before returning on 7 April for a final clash against the Red Devils.

That FA Cup fixture will be played on Sunday 17 March at 3:30pm and will be shown live on ITV in the UK.  As for City, they’ll be in action the day before, with a 5:30pm kick-off at the Etihad against Newcastle.

Elsewhere in the quarter-finals Wolverhampton Wanderers host Coventry City (16 March, 12:15pm) and Chelsea face Leicester City (17 March, 12:45pm).

The winners of all four ties will progress to the semi-finals which will be played at Wembley on the weekend of 20 April.

There remains a possibility of all-Manchester FA Cup final meeting, as was the case last year. Ilkay Gundogan’s brace secured the victory on that afternoon for Pep Guardiola’s side, en route to winning the treble.

This year’s final will take place on Saturday 25 May, the week after the conclusion of the Premier League season and seven days before the Champions League final.
