Erik ten Hag confirmed that Andre Onana and Luke Shaw will be available for Sunday's Premier League game against Everton.

Manchester United return to club action after a two-week absence and face an aggrieved Everton side this weekend, following the club's 10-point deduction from the Premier League.

And United's chances of taking three points will be boosted by the return of two key players on Merseyside. Onana picked up an injury during the break and returned early from international duty with Cameroon. But Ten Hag confirmed on Friday that the player is 'okay' to play this weekend.

As for Shaw, he returned to training during the international break, and is available for the game. "Luke Shaw will be available and will be in the squad," said Ten Hag.

Asked what the left-back's return will mean, the United boss replied: "You can mention many things: his physicality, technical ability, his leadership. It is clear and for a long time in the season we didn’t have a left full-back. We are very happy he is back, it is a good sign and he will help us to be more stable."

While it's good news on Onana and Shaw, Ten Hag gave a less encouraging update on Rasmus Hojlund, who picked up a knock before the international break. "Rasmus still is close," explained the Dutchman. "He is down, he is outside and he is making very good steps. We have to wait until tomorrow and we will make a final decision."

Ten Hag also confirmed that Jonny Evans would be back from injury in time for this weekend's game, but said it 'won't be long' until the Northern Irishman is fit again.
