Man Utd predicted line-up v Everton: Erik ten Hag facing midfield shortage - gallery

The Manchester United manager faces selection dilemmas in midfield and up front.

Erik ten Hag will have to make at least one change to his starting line-up against Everton, to the one which was selected in the win over Luton Town.

Manchester United ended the last stretch of Premier League fixtures with a 1-0 win over the Hatters, but both Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were replaced through injury and the former is set to miss the next few matches at least.

With Casemiro also out and Mason Mount a doubt, it leaves Ten Hag light on midfield options. Indeed, the Dutchman may have just three regular options to choose from in the middle.

In attack, Rasmus Hojlund is a doubt and it could mean a recall for Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has been selected up top in all of the last four matches when Hojlund hasn’t started, even if he has failed to impress. One goal all season for Martial is hardly a ringing endorsement of his capabilities.

But the other option is Marcus Rashford, who has an even worse scoring ratio than United’s no.9 this season. Rashford played through the middle in the first two matches of the campaign when Hojlund was injured, and could be deployed there again at Goodison Park.

Elsewhere, at right-back, Ten Hag is likely to choose between the defensively astute Aaron Wan-Bissak, or Diogo Dalot, who offers more of an attacking threat. With all that in mind, here’s how we think United will line up against the Toffees.
