Two Premier League rivals are said to be keen on a move for a Manchester United defender during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly the subject of major interest from Premier League rivals Everton and West Ham United.

The England centre-back is said to be one of a number of players Erik ten Hag would allow to depart from Old Trafford this summer as the former Ajax manager looks to build on the impressive progress made during his first season in charge. After adding Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane to his squad 12 months ago, Ten Hag used Maguire as a backup option throughout the campaign as the former Leicester City man made just 16 starts in all competitions.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with the 30-year-old in recent months - but CaughtOffside have revealed Everton and West Ham have a ‘concrete interest’ in Maguire, who they suggest is set to hold ‘a key meeting’ over his future with Ten Hag. Speaking of Maguire’s future in an interview with The Times in March, the United manager revealed he believes the defender has a decision to make over what lies ahead and insisted he would be right to not be happy over his current situation at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag said: “Let’s say I’m happy he’s here and when we needed him he did his job. But it’s also a decision he has to make.

“No one would be happy with this situation – he is not as well. He trains always on the best levels, so with 100% effort. So he handles that situation well and he’s in that manner and in his captaincy he’s important for the squad.”

The report on CaughtOffside also reveals midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay have interest from several clubs as speculation over their own futures at Old Trafford continues. Brazil midfielder Fred is said to have held talks with Fulham manager Marco Silva and McTominay is under consideration by Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Serie A club Roma.
