Bayern Munich interested in appointing Erik ten Hag

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel will leave the Bavarian giants at the end of the season, following their failure to win the Bundesliga title - and they’re considering appointing Ten Hag in his place, according to a report from Bild.

They had also been linked with a move for former United head coach Ralf Rangnick, but he has opted to remain in place as manager of the Austrian national team. As things stand, Ten Hag appears to be the leading candidate for the Bayern hotseat.

Manchester United considering Julen Lopetegui as Ten Hag’s successor

United seem to be aware that Ten Hag may not be with them when the 2024/25 season dawns - due to this, they are already thought to be in the hunt for a potential replacement who can turn their fortunes around.

Currently, they are thought to be looking at former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui, according to Football Insider. He has an extensive career in football management, having also taken the reins at Porto, Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, but his success in the Premier League was limited. He left Wolves at the end of the 2022/23 season - could he enjoy a greater degree of success at Old Trafford?
