Erik ten Hag gives blunt 14-word response to Jadon Sancho question

Erik ten Hag gave a blunt response when asked about Jadon Sancho's loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

The Manchester United winger completed his short-term switch to Borussia Dortmund on Thursday, four months after his social media criticism of Ten Hag that saw the player frozen out of the team. The pair still have a frosty relationship and asked about the loan on Friday, Ten Hag gave a short reply. "I hope he's doing well, so I wish him the best of good luck."

Pushed on his view, Ten Hag said: "That's it. I hope he's doing well and he'll be a success. I replied, I think it's enough."

Sancho is unlikely to play under Ten Hag again after the 23-year claimed his manager's criticism of his training ground performances were 'totally untrue' and that he had been made a 'scapegoat' by his manager. The ex-Manchester City youth graduate posted on social media claiming it was 'good to be back' and was also seen kissing the Dortmund badge.

As part of Sancho's loan move, Dortmund will pay an initial fee of €3.5m (£3m) for the player, although that could rise to €7.5m (£6.5m) with add-ons based around individual and team success. Should the full £6.5m fee be paid, it will cover all of Sancho's wages, with Dortmund committing to pay a significant portion of his salary at a minimum. There is also no buy option inserted in the deal. He could make his second debut for the German side when they face Damrsdadt on Saturday.
