Crystal Palace and West Ham United have reportedly enquired about the availability of Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 26-year-old has fallen behind Diogo Dalot in the pecking order at right-back and it was reportedly earlier this week that he could be used as a makeweight in a deal to sign Palace winger Michael Olise this summer.

The Manchester Evening News now claim he has attracted interest from the Eagles and West Ham, with the London clubs contacting United about a possible move.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined United from Palace in 2019 for £50m, has made 17 appearances this season, but Erik ten Hag revealed before the recent draw with Tottenham Hotspur that the full-back would have started on the bench had Luke Shaw been fit. Instead he played the full 90 minutes at left-back, with Dalot on the right, another indication that the latter is preferred by Ten Hag.

While Wan-Bissaka continues to impress in a defensive capacity, and was one of the team’s best performers against Spurs, his lack of attacking output has proved an issue for the United boss. Ten Hag prefers his full-backs to offer more from a creative aspect and targeted a new right-back in each of his first three transfer windows at the club.

Those plans were ultimately shelved as United prioritised other positions and were impacted by finances. It’s not clear at this stage whether a new right-back will be among the club’s aims in the transfer market next summer.

As for Wan-Bissaka, his contract was last month extended by a year and expires in the summer of 2025. Reports this week suggested that decision was made purely so the player can be sold over the summer.
