Chido Obi might hit huge Manchester United milestone this week after blow to Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim handed out two full Premier League debuts at the weekend and he could hand out another this week. Altay Bayindir and Harry Amass were both named in the Manchester United side that was comfortably beaten by Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, as they prioritised the forthcoming Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon.
Amorim was certain to make changes for the match, but by full-time, the five he had made didn't seem like enough. Leny Yoro, Diogo Dalot and Manuel Ugarte all played the entirety of the clash, while Noussair Mazraoui and Bruno Fernandes were given a brief rest in the final minutes. They should all start against Lyon on Thursday night.

Hide AdOne player has already been ruled out of the match, though. Joshua Zirkzee suffered a hamstring injury in the Newcastle defeat and is set to miss 'some games'. It leaves United with only one senior striker available for selection, and he only has one goal in his last 16 appearances for the club.
Chido Obi could get chance this weekend
Chido Obi is not eligible to feature when Manchester United face Lyon in midweek, but he could be involved when they face Wolves in the Premier League at the weekend. It would be quite the story, given he is set to feature against their U21s on Monday night.
With full focus on the crucial Europa League tie, Ruben Amorim is expected to make changes on Sunday afternoon, irrespective of the outcome on Thursday night. It means Altay Bayindir and Harry Amass could both be handed starts again, while teenage striker Obi is perhaps the only other choice in attack. Having welcomed back a host of senior faces in recent weeks, Amorim has only seen the need to name one striker on the bench for their recent clashes, which could work in the youngster’s favour this weekend. The injury to Joshua Zirkzee was a stark reminder of how quickly things can change, and if United remain in the Europa League, it makes little sense to risk Rasmus Hojlund in meaningless league matches, regardless of how poor he has been this season.
The dilemma for United is that they are aiming to carefully nurture the development of Obi and not overwhelm him with the pressure of playing for the first team at such a young age. It is true the teenager is viewed as a player with enormous potential by senior staff, but they are wary that it is only 'potential' and he will only fulfil it if they manage him correctly.

Hide AdMore likely is a substitute appearance against Wolves this weekend, though in his cameos for the first team, he has already made a compelling case to suggest he could be worth the risk from the start. The choice to start Zirkzee in a meaningless match backfired; they can't afford to repeat it.
