'It isn't normal' - Man Utd ace who could leave this summer gives verdict on Red Devils fans
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has described the support of the club’s fan base as ‘not normal’ and insists the Old Trafford faithful deserve more credit for the unwavering support they have shown the team throughout what has been a hugely difficult campaign in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has experienced a difficult third year at Carrington and has found life tough after falling down the pecking order in the early months of Ruben Amorim’s tenure.

However, he was left as an unused substitute for four of the remaining six games of 2024 before also struggling for first team football in the early part of 2025 as United continued to slump down the league table.
However, the former Real Madrid star now finds himself at the forefront of Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford and has played a key role in helping the team reach the last four of the Europa League. He opened the scoring last week as his side earned a 3-0 semi-final first leg victory away at Athletic Bilbao.
Casemiro discusses desire to win more with Man Utd
Casemiro spoke to club media and stated his desire to add more honours to his trophy cabinet with the Red Devils after a trophy-laden stint with Real Madrid. He explained: “I have won what I have won. But I always want more. I always want to earn it, to win, that is the winning mentality. People only see the 90 minutes, I always say ‘the matches are the reflection of what you do every day’ and that is me – always working.”
“Whether I play or don’t play, I am there every day. That is me as a person, that is me. Whether I play or not – all I want is for United to win. If United win, I am winning. The most important is that United win. It is not about me winning or another player winning, it is about United winning.”

Casemiro played a massive role in both legs of the victory against Lyon and described it as a moment he’ll remember forever.
He added: “I will always remember those moments because it was such a difficult game, but these are the games that mark you as a footballer. They are the reason you play football. After the game, you say, they are the games you live for, and so these are the games you remember forever.”
Casemiro heaps praise on Man Utd fan base
United are 15th in the table and currently experiencing one of their worst seasons since 1974. However, fans have still turned up every week in their numbers, with Casemiro describing the support as ‘not normal’ while stating that he often tells his close friends and family about how good the atmosphere is at the Theatre of Dreams.

“Of course, when you do not win, it is difficult to be loyal and support the team. This year, in the European competition, we are a little bit closer but, in the league, we aren’t where we should be, and we aren’t playing well. But the fans are something incredible. It isn’t normal how good they are.”
“It isn’t normal how they support us and help us. The other night against Lyon was an unforgettable night in my career and something incredible, an incredible game. They always support us — whether we are playing well or badly. When I get home, I speak with my family or my inner circle about what the fans are like here.”
Casemiro is under contract until 2026 and has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia throughout the last 18 months. It remains to be seen if he’s a part of the long-term vision of Amorim, although he did state in a past interview with ESPN that he wants to see his contract out.

I'm very grateful to the fans and the club. I'm happy at the club. Happy on the bench? Of course not, that's something else."
