Manchester United have reportedly spoken to Adrien Rabiot’s mother - and the player's agent - about a potential summer switch to Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Frenchman looked set to join United last summer before a transfer fell through and Rabiot remained at Juventus, where went on to play 48 times in all competitions last season and scored 11 goals. The ex-Paris Saint-Germain star also featured in six of France’s seven matches at the World Cup as Les Bleus finished as runners-up to Argentina in Qatar.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed in his Give Me Sport column that Erik ten Hag is a ‘big fan’ of the midfielder and would be interested in bringing Rabiot to United.
The 28-year-old has also attracted reported interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United. According to Italian newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport, the Magpies have made an offer of around €5m (£4.3m) per year, which is significantly lower than the €7m (£6m) Juventus have offered.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are hoping to bring in two more midfielders this summer, with Mason Mount expected to join as United and Chelsea haggle over a price for the England international. United are also willing to allow Scott McTominay, Fred and Donny van de Beek to depart the club this summer.
A move for Rabiot on a free would also appeal to United given their limited financial resources in the market. Having overspent last summer, the club have to be wary of complying with Financial Fair Play, while the lack of certainty surrounding the ownership situation is impacting United’s ability to make concrete transfer plans.
