Manchester United has been home to some of the beautiful game's great names.
Cantona, Best, Beckham, Ronaldo, we could go on. But in amongst all that, there's been a few shockers to pull on the red of United too. Heck, even Sir Alex Ferguson got a few deals wrong down the years.

5. Paul Pogba
This one might divide opinion, but was suggested by plenty of people on our Facebook page. Left as a youngster and returned for the best part of £90 million. He then struggled to live up to the billing and left as a free agent in the summer of 2022. Currently out of action after failing a drugs test for elevated levels of testosterone. | Getty
6. Ralph Milne
His role helping the development of Lee Sharpe has been defended by Sir Alex, but the £170,000 signing back in 1988 is not well remembered by fans. Winger has admitted to problems with alcohol and gambling during his career which became apparent at Old Trafford. Made just 20-odd appearances in three seasons, almost all of them coming in his first campaign at the club. | Getty
7. Bebe
Four years at United ended with just seven appearances and two goals. He had been playing street football not long before his Old Trafford move, with Real Madrid reportedly also interested, but that was where the fairytale ended. Has forged a decent career in Spain with Aibar and Rayo Vallecano among others. | Getty
8. Alexis Sanchez
Has said he wanted to return to Arsenal after just one training session. Did not have a good time under Jose Mourinho, scoring five goals in 45 appearances before being shipped off to Inter, who he returned to in August after a stint with Marseille. | Getty
